David Afrimi

Founder & Investment Advisor Representative
David Afraimi’s path into financial planning wasn’t accidental — it was forged in adversity. When the markets collapsed in 2001, while others pulled back, David leaned in. It was during that turbulent period that he began building the framework for what would become the BAM Retirement Gameplan™ — a trademarked, comprehensive retirement roadmap that has guided clients to clarity and confidence ever since.

David began his financial services career in 1999 as an insurance account executive in Northern California. After five years of consistent growth — including a move into sales management — he expanded operations to Denver, Colorado in 2005, co-founding BAM Advisory Group alongside his wife, Kristy. What started as a vision has grown into a 17-person team built with one deliberate purpose: to serve clients at the highest level, together.

With 25+ years of industry experience, David’s expertise spans retirement income planning, Social Security maximization, estate planning, and tax mitigation. As an independent, fiduciary advisor, he carries no proprietary product obligations — every recommendation is made purely in the client’s best interest. His credentials reflect that depth of commitment: Series 66, Life & Health, Long-Term Care, Registered Investment Advisor, Registered Financial Consultant® (RFC), Certified Tax Specialist™ (CTS), Certified Financial Fiduciary® (CFF), and National Social Security Advisor® (NSSA).

BAM Advisory Group has been recognized as the Best of Mile High Financial Planning Firm in both 2025 and 2026 — a reflection of the culture David and Kristy have spent 20+ years building from the ground up.

David’s advising philosophy is straightforward: “You need to have people in your life who are willing to tell you what you need to know — not what you want to hear.” That directness, paired with genuine care, is what keeps clients for decades. Because at BAM, the true outcome of the work isn’t a portfolio number — it’s helping clients maximize the one thing money can’t buy and no one can get back: their time.

A sought-after voice in the financial world, David hosts the Financial Leadership Podcast and has been featured on the Do Business. Do Life. (DBDL) Podcast, bringing his no-nonsense approach to audiences well beyond Colorado.

Outside the office, David is as adventurous as he is authentic. You’ll find him mountain biking, snowboarding, traveling, cooking, or — perhaps surprisingly — on the salsa dance floor. He and Kristy are proud parents of two sons: Jordan, currently pursuing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Regis University, and Ty, studying Business Management at UC Colorado Springs. The Afraimi family also includes two French bulldogs, Manny and Dre.

A die-hard Raiders and Warriors fan living squarely in Broncos country, David wouldn’t have it any other way. One phrase has always defined him best: “Unapologetically Authentic.” He will show up in your life exactly the way he shows up in his own.

Kristy Afraimi

Chief Operating Officer
Kristy Afraimi made her move to Denver, Colorado from San Jose, California in June of 2005 to harness her experience in operations and financial services and, along with her husband, start their own company. Kristy brings over 15 years of operations management experience across a variety of industries. She is a hard-working, highly detail-oriented and dedicated individual. While she enjoys the multifaceted and fast-paced aspects of the financial services industry, the real enjoyment in her work comes from systematically creating and implementing strategies to grow and better BAM’s business for its clients. Cultivating meaningful and trusting relationships with the clients BAM serves is a number one priority! Kristy is the proud mom of two amazing boys and Kristy’s every precious moment is spent with them. Her spare time includes CrossFitting, snow-boarding and lending a helping hand to anyone who needs it.

Maxwell Ross

VP of Client Solutions & Advisor Development

Maxwell Ross is our Colorado native! Maxwell grew up in beautiful Colorado in the town of Arvada, with his parents and older sister. His certifications include his Series 65 and Colorado Life & Health License.

Max attended Fredonia State University of New York, a small school in upstate New York, about an hour South West of Buffalo. There he double majored in finance and economics. He also played for the schools Division III hockey team. Although hockey was the driving force behind Maxwell’s decision to go to school in New York, his desire to have a career in the financial services industry is what drove his chosen courses of study. Max knew very early on that a career in the financial service industry was what he wanted.

Having the ability to help reduce the stress and worry people feel about their financial futures is something Max truly sees value and inspiration in.

In Maxwell’s down time, he enjoys golfing, playing hockey and spending time with his dogs. He also loves the outdoors and takes advantage of all the activities that Colorado has to offer.

Jack Walker

Investment Advisor Representative

Jack Walker grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and spent the first 18 years of his life there before charting his own path west to Colorado. Rather than following his family’s footsteps to the University of Florida, Jack chose the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado, where he discovered CU’s financial planning program and knew he had found the right fit. His passion for finance is rooted in something simple: he loves meeting new people and is genuinely driven to help them build financial independence. After four years, Jack graduated with a degree in Finance and Financial Planning.

Since joining BAM Advisory Group, Jack has become a trusted member of the team, bringing the same curiosity and care to his client relationships that drew him to the profession in the first place.

Outside of work, Jack takes full advantage of everything Colorado has to offer. He is an avid snowboarder and hiker, and he has a creative side too, having taken pottery classes since high school. He is thrilled to call Colorado home and grateful to be part of the BAM Advisory Group team.

Dylan Rauh

Investment Advisor Representative

Dylan Rauh was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado with his parents and older brother and sister. Dylan left Colorado shortly after graduating to play hockey throughout Canada and the U.S. and eventually went to college at Aurora University in Illinois.

Dylan double majored in Finance and Marketing while playing for Aurora University’s NCAA DIII hockey team. During his time at school, Dylan gained a passion for finance and specifically wanted to get into personal finance. Dylan enjoys being able to help individuals and families achieve financial freedom during retirement.

During some down time, Dylan spends his time playing hockey, golfing, pickleball, and enjoying Wash Park

Amelia Bowater

Director of Marketing & Culture

Amelia grew up in Montpelier, Vermont, where she spent the first 17 years of her life. A competitive snowboarder from a young age, she was first introduced to Colorado through annual family trips for National Snowboarding Competitions. At 17, she shifted course and headed to Europe to study international business, a chapter that became a defining period of personal growth and discovery.

Those early visits to Colorado left a lasting impression and planted the seed for a future move. When the time was right, she made the leap, drawn by the chance to build a life of her own design.

Amelia began her career in the insurance industry, earning her Colorado Health and Life License along with a Medicare Certification. Her background in customer service shaped the way she approaches her work today: with care, integrity, and a genuine interest in the people she serves.

As Director of Marketing and Culture at BAM Advisory Group, Amelia leads the firm’s brand, client experience, and internal culture initiatives. From email campaigns and digital strategy to signature events and team development, she brings creativity and intention to every touchpoint, helping BAM connect with clients and prospects in a way that feels warm, professional, and unmistakably us.

When she is not working, you will find Amelia snowboarding, catching concerts at Red Rocks, spending time with family, and traveling whenever the opportunity arises.

Andrew Phillips

Andrew grew up in a small town in Western New York as the middle child among two brothers. He pursued his education at The University of Buffalo, where he studied chemistry. Seeking a change, Andrew relocated to Colorado in 2011, where he discovered a passion for branch banking. What began as a career shift soon evolved into a dedicated journey guiding clients towards financial success and goal achievement.

Andrew’s professional path expanded into roles as a registered broker associate and within the mortgage industry, further honing his expertise in financial services. His commitment remains rooted in building meaningful connections with clients, which he believes are essential to achieving mutual success in the financial sector.

Andrew’s free time is spent with his wife, four year old son, and their adorable pup Bourbon Kenobi. They tend to be found together working in the garden, enjoying the outdoors, antiquing or going for walks around the neighborhood. Andrew’s other passions include music, going to concerts, camping and visiting national parks.

He went on to study Finance at Florida State University, where he not only gained a strong foundation in financial principles but also built lasting relationships with mentors who helped guide him toward a career in financial advising. Liberty Streeter

Investment Advisor Representative

Liberty spent her childhood in New Hampshire before moving to Florida for high school and college. At the University of South Florida in Tampa, she pursued a BS in Finance and built a strong foundation in customer service and financial operations. After college, she jumped straight into the financial services industry, gaining valuable experience that taught her the importance of trust, transparency, and strong client relationships.

Despite falling in love with the Florida beaches, Liberty missed the mountains and changing seasons from her childhood, which led her to relocate to Colorado in 2023. As a longtime lover of electronic dance music, she found Denver to be the perfect landing spot – allowing her to further her professional path and making the most of the flourishing music scene. Liberty enjoys spending time outdoors and discovering new restaurants to enjoy with her friends.

Her passion for education, along with her ability to build personal connections and lead naturally, extends into her work as a Financial Professional. Liberty remains committed to helping people feel empowered in their financial decisions and confident about the path ahead.

Jamal Schlensog

Investment Advisor Representative

Jamal grew up in northern Colorado before heading to the University of Colorado Boulder, where he graduated with distinction, earning a BS in Finance and Operations Management. He’s equal parts people person and analytical thinker, and he found his calling in financial services after watching the profound impact that thoughtful planning, and the absence of it, had on the people closest to him. That experience gave him a clear sense of purpose: helping others achieve the same financial freedom he knows is possible.

Driven by a desire to guide clients through full-service, holistic planning, Jamal found the perfect home at BAM Advisory Group. He launched his career in wealth management by earning his Series 7 and 63 Securities licenses, then shifted toward a more advisory-focused path by obtaining his Series 66.

Outside the office, Jamal’s something of a renaissance man, and his wide-ranging passions reflect the same energy and curiosity he brings to his work. You’re likely to find him adventuring in the great outdoors, cheering on Colorado’s local sports teams or his beloved FC Bayern, making music, playing soccer, or crossing a new destination off his ever-growing travel bucket list.
